Pat Boilesen
"Nebraska's Daughter"

How did Pat become "Nebraska's Daughter"?
"Nebraska's Daughter" was the title Pat gave the frist song she wrote. In reality, no one knew Pat as a performer when she began to write back in the '70's, so when she did start to perform, folks had trouble remembering her name. They did, however, remember the title to her song, "Nebraska's Daughter". That goes for MC's too! In introducing her for one performance, one MC forgot her name....so...he did the best he could and brought her on stage as "Nebraska's Daughter". It stuck! All because of a song that got it's title becasue "daughter" was the only word that Pat could think of that rhymed with "water'.

Come On In........ We want you to get to know Nebraska's Daughter, Pat Boilesen.

Howdy! We've been waitin' for you to stop by!!Look for the bench at the bottom of each page, then take a load off and sit a spell!

Pat grew up in the beautiful North Loup River Valley
just 5 miles from the historical Chalk Mines near Scotia, NE. After writing "Nebraska's Daughter", followed by "The Old Loup River", Pat's first album was produced in February of 1985. She remembers shivering on a cold February day as she posed for these promo shots taken  at the Chalk Mine site overlooking the Loup River. That album is still one of her best selling albums today!

To Keep it Short.......
Pat is a singer, songwriter, honky-tonk piano player and poet. She is a performer of traditional western, country and gospel music.
Much of Pat's writing pays tribute to the early pioneer, cowboy, and farmer. A good share of what she writes is taken from history and the rest from her own experiences living on the plains of Nebraska.
Pat performs gospel concerts for countless churches across the plains, and for Christian organizations in need of entertainment. She feels this is one small way she can express her thanks to the Lord for the joy her music has brought to her life.
Pat is also an inspirational speaker and enjoys sharing her story of how God has helped her and her family through more than the average share of tragedies. She has written an inspirational booklet of true stories of what she believes to be miracles and hopes her book will lighten the load of those who read it.
Pat is a performing member of both the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Humanities Council.
These state organizations take Pat into schools in NE., and allow non-profit organizations to bring her program into their community. SEE THE LINKS TO THE LEFT FOR MORE ABOUT PAT AND THE
NAC
